why i'm here.

the situation surrounding the LRA is becoming messier, more desparate, and worse by the day. this is an update from this week, and it's horrifying:

this is why i'm here. please support this cause - it is so frustrating sometimes to be an activist and try to get people to care; this is not something that should be hard to convince people to be outraged about. it is pretty much the worst humanitarian crisis in the world right now - why is the international community not stepping up? sure, it's important to take care of one's own country first, but at what cost? at what point/how bad do other human beings need to be suffering for those in power to put them on their priority list? when hitler rose to power and nazis massacred millions, people asked, "how did it get this bad?". when 'hotel rwanda' came out and exposed the rwandan genocide to the wider western public, everyone wondered, "how could the world let this happen?".
well....this IS happening. right now. and who will look back on this when it's over and ask, "what happened?"? probably a lot of people. but the onus is on US. WE are aware, WE have the power and means to do something, and WE are citizens of the world. so please just spread the word. because our goal as a movement, as a generation, and as a concerned public is to make it impossible to ignore us. obama has a lot on his plate, but this is a matter for humanity. please, have a heart. have some compassion. we need to show him we care for him to care.
also - ask yourselves this: if this were happening in england, would it have EVER gotten this bad? if this had happened in canada? if this had happened in france? spain?
never. we would have intervened long ago, saying that this was an abomination against other humans. so why is it acceptable to let it happen in uganda? a man in one of our documentaries actually had to ask the question, "are we not human?" that is something no one should ever have to grapple with, or that no one should ever feel so hopeless that they actually wonder about.

please take a couple minutes after reading this and reading the article above and put yourself in their shoes. please understand how much you have and how brutal their reality is. and please put this knowledge toward action. the easiest thing you can do is sign our citizen's arrest warrant: http://wewantobama.com

show the world once and for all that we are not going to stand for this kind of thing anymore. make your voice heard. and if nothing else: support us crazy ones who are giving our ALL, our entire LIVES, to try to help everyone else care.
